Pomona Is Seventh Most-Dangerous City For Motor Vehicle Accidents

Pomona Is Seventh Most-Dangerous City For Motor Vehicle Accidents
Christian J. Amendt

With such a large population, the state of California has a significant number of car crashes that occur every year. But, would you guess which city has the highest rate of motor vehicle accidents in the state? If you thought of population-dense San Francisco first, you would be right!

A new study shows that San Francisco is the most dangerous city for drivers in the entire state, bringing additional attention to dangerous factors that lead to fatal car accidents in that area.

The study considered factors such as population density, number of miles traveled by commuters, hit-and-run rate, rates of speeding, and the frequency of alcohol-related crashes, among others. All of these contributing factors could lead to wrongful death claims or a fatal car accident, depending on the situation. The study also yielded several other important findings – in particular, researchers found that younger drivers contribute far more to car crashes in the state than other groups. Those drivers between the ages of 15 and 29 caused more than half of the state’s car crashes, but they only make up about 22 percent of the population.

You may be wondering whether Pomona was high on the list of crash-prone cities – the answer is “yes.” Our city ranks seventh in the state as far as danger for drivers is concerned. Further, our crash rate is significantly higher than that of San Francisco, though our area suffers fewer injurious car accidents.

With this in mind, it is important for Pomona residents to be aware of their rights in the event of a car crash. Victims may be entitled to compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and a variety of other civil claims. A qualified attorney can help you learn more about your legal options, providing you with critical information after a crash with a negligent driver.
